Spring is around the corner, which means the stores are starting to release their spring collections. But here in New York, it’s still cold. So I’ve taken this dress from Anna Sammarone’s spring collection and layered it so I can wear it now. I layered the maxi wrap dress with a turtle neck and sheer tights. Because it’s still like 4 layer minimum weather, I opted for my oversized navy coat and for a little-added warmth I added chunky socks.
The key to transitioning pieces is to make sure that you add warmth where the spring pieces otherwise wouldn’t. Since this dress is a lightweight cotton, perfect for New York in the spring, I have to treat this dress as more of an over piece and make sure all my extremities are covered. I could have also layered this dress with a sweater and jeans and wear it as a kimono. I also could have worn a cropped sweater over the dress and added over the knee boots. The possibilities are endless. How do you transition your new spring pieces into your winter wardrobe?
