Dear 2017,
How have you been this past week? I’ve been great. Nine days ago I was really expecting great things out of you this year. Then I realized something: I shouldn’t put all these expectations on you. I have to make the most out of December 31st just I do January 1st.I’m devoted to me making the most out of you, not you making the most out of me. Ecclesiastes teaches me each day is a gift from God and I have the power to make it great or not.
7 Seize life! Eat bread with gusto, Drink wine with a robust heart. Oh yes – God takes pleasure in your pleasure!8 Dress festively every morning. Don’t skimp on colors and scarves.9 Relish life with the spouse you love Each and every day of your precarious life. Each day is God’s gift. It’s all you get in exchange For the hard work of staying alive. Make the most of each one!10Whatever turns up, grab it and do it. And heartily! This is your last and only chance at it, For there’s neither work to do nor thoughts to think In the company of the dead, where you’re most certainly headed.Ecclesiastes 9:7-10 MSG
GO BOLDY
- I will live in the truth about who God says I am
- I will be unapologetically me
- I will dress how I want EVERYDAY
LET LOVE LEAD
- I will let love lead in my speech
- I will let love lead in my actions
- I will let love lead in my thoughts
With God and each new day I will get to where I will no longer have to challenge myself to think or act from these mindsets. I have to remind myself that my accomplishments in these areas and others are not bound by you nor should I expect them to be.
I close with, I’m excited to see what you have in store, but I know the author of you so my thoughts are beyond you and your restrictions of 365 days.
Have a great day, week, month and year. I know I will!
Sincerely,
The Boldest, Most Loving Raven Yet
