Search the Word for Answers – What Does God Say About You?
Look to the bible for what God and Jesus say about you. The love they have for you, how they see you and the promises they have for you. These will be the verses you stand on, verses to recite when negative thoughts creep into your mind or when someone says something negative about you. This is your arsenal of positive affirmations but from the Most High. What He says about you trumps what anyone, including yourself, says about you. Once you have your verses keep them somewhere handy, the notepad on your phone highlighted in your Bible app or even commit a few to memory. I have a few on my wall at home too but I need them at my fingertips, negative thoughts can come up at any time so it’s good to have them accessible at all times.
- Verses about what God says about you
- Psalm 139:14 – I praise you because I’m fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well
- Psalm 46:5 – God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day
- Ephesians 1:4 – For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love
- Provers 31:17 She wraps herself in strength, might and power in all her works.
Practice Self Care
Self care is care provided “for you, by you.” It’s about identifying your own needs and taking steps to meet them. It is taking the time to do some of the activities that nurture you. Self care is about taking proper care of yourself and treating yourself as kindly as you treat others. (Source)
Self-care is so important in loving yourself more. As women, we are inclined to take care of ourselves last, whether married or not. Self-care also helps to identify how others should treat you. If you don’t know how to treat yourself well how can someone else? Self-care can be anything you do on a regular basis, monthly, weekly or even daily. One self-care act I just started is I recently bought a MoviePass, I plan to go to the movies at least once a week. I love the movies for me this is time well spent on myself.
- Self Care Acts

- Do a face mask
- Read a book

Make Yourself You WCE
I recently made a picture of myself my lock screen. A picture that I think I look really beautiful in. Normally I have a random picture or a motivational quote, I always felt it was a bit obnoxious to have your own photo, but for some reason, I went ahead and made it my lock screen. Within the first couple of days, I noticed a difference. It’s a constant reminder that I am beautiful, a way to silence the voices, the negative thoughts with just a glance at my phone. Choose one of your favorite photos. Make sure it highlights the areas you have the most problems with, mine is an up-close photo, from the shoulders up. I chose the lock screen so I wouldn’t have to worry about apps covering it up too much, for the most part, I can see the entire photo. Photos help you see yourself how others see you, beautiful.
This is something I deal with on a daily, sometimes minute to minute basis, and all of these have helped me and I hope they help you on your journey to more self-love. Whether you try one or all of these I know that your self-love will be greatly impacted.
